First Congregational UCC is an Open and Affirming congregation in the United Church of Christ. The church was begun as a pipeline for the underground railroad during Civil War times. Social conscious Christians came together and through their common actions and hopes in Christ formed a church here in Downers Grove. We are proud of our past, but also excited for our future.
